Highfields (Qld) Equestrian Centre

Warmblood training and breeding facility North of Toowoomba in Queensland

Debbie Tidswell

Debbie owns Highfields Equestrian Centre and has done so for over 10 years.   Debbie has been riding since she was 10 years old and has played polocrosse as well as competed in dressage.  She has bred thoroughbreds and warmbloods for several years now.

She built the indoor arena in 2006 and had the surface done professionally by ELD (Equestrian Land Developments). She imported her first Hanoverian, a stallion named Sultan in 2007 and has bred many of the horses on these pages herself. Since then she has imported a  Dutch bred KWPN stallion which is called Unanimous  ( affectionately called Chubs to his friends). He will be out competing in 2015.   He won his preliminary test with over 80% in late 2014.

Debbie now just enjoys having a few warmbloods and breeding a few foals each year. She gives each young one the best start in life and loves to see them go to loving homes and out competing later in life.

Nicola Weber

Nicola, Debbie's daughter is now managing the Equestrian Centre at Highfields and also resides there.  Since a very young age, Nicola has been riding at pony club and moving through the grades up to competing EFA dressage. Then in 2007 her dressage mares were put in foal to Sultan and that is when she decided that she would dip her toes in the Showing/Hacking Scene.

After a few years of competing her grey hack "Empire State" the decision was made to sell him as Grade 11 and 12 at school was more important. After completing Grade 12 in 2009 she moved out of home into the "Farm House" at Highfields Equestrian Centre and decided to purchase River Range Crystal from Debbie.

Since then Nicola has evented Crystal all over Queensland with some great results including Reserve Champion Pre- Intro horse at the Qld State eventing championships.

In 2012 Nicola retired Crystal to become a broodmare. We bred Crystal to Fürst Grandios who is a highly sort after stallion in Europe.  The result of this cross is a very fine filly who was born November 2013. This filly was assessed as "Elite" ( scored greater than 80%)  in February 2014 with the ACE Group.

The second filly born in late 2014 is by Unanimous ( KWPN Stallion). She was assessed at the ACE assessment in February 2015 and received an "Elite "status award.

Nicola is now riding Crystal's first daughter, QEC Sonnet with some great results.  We look forward to seeing her out and about in 2015.
